The Herbert Protocol, ready to send in seconds
Everything the police ask for when someone living with dementia goes missing, kept ready in your family's account.
How Central Core helps
The Herbert Protocol is a UK police scheme for people living with dementia. Families fill in a form in advance: a recent photo, a description, medication, people to contact and places they might go. If the person goes missing, the police have what they need straight away instead of starting with a long interview.
Most families mean to do it and never quite get round to it, or the form sits in a drawer with a photo from years ago. Central Core keeps it in your family's account and makes it quick to use when it matters.
Ready in advance
Fill it in once in your family's account: photo, description, usual clothes, places they might go, contacts. We remind you until it's done, and again if the photo gets old.
One tap if they're missing
It creates a private page for the police, with the time the door opened from the home's sensors already added. It asks you to confirm first, and you can cancel it if you pressed it by mistake.
Send it your way
Email it to the officer, show them a code to scan, or copy the link. Nothing goes to anyone until you choose to send it.
Add details as you learn them
What they were wearing, where someone last saw them, a photo taken today. Each detail updates the police page straight away.
Our approach
Speed first
The police page is ready the moment you confirm. You can add details afterwards, and each one updates the page straight away.
Facts, clearly labelled
Times from the home's sensors are shown as sensor readings, such as "front door opened 19:33". They never guess where someone went.
You stay in control
Nothing is sent until you send it. You can stop the page at any time, and every step is recorded with the time, so you can see what was shared and when.
Always call 999 first if someone is missing or in danger. The police page is private: it isn't listed by search engines, it expires after 72 hours unless you keep it active, and you can stop it at any time.
